Firestorm is probably the most powerful character in Dc that no one cares about. I think the outfit has something to do with it. There's no sense of having to contain radiation and the outfit looks extremely outdated even at its sleekest.
If he's supposed to be able to hang with the Justice League he should look the part. He doesn't have a small easy to remember symbol but the design on his shirt doesn't need to change. Essentially any exposed skin should have fire or energy waiting to escape.
